A celebration of Ferdowsi and his Shahnameh

(A world literary masterpiece, written in Persian over a millennium ago)

“The Reception of the Shahnameh in the past and in contemporary Iran”

A joint talk mainly in English with references to Persian by

Professor Charles Melville (Professor of Persian History, University of Cambridge) and

Dr. Firuza Melville (Cambridge Shahnama Centre for Persian Studies, Pembroke College)

The session will continue in Persian reciting poetry and stories from Shahnameh by Friends of shahnameh and naghali by Mr. Karbalayi.

پروفسور چارز ملویل و دکتر فیروزه ملویل سخنرانان برنامه خواهند بود (سخنرانی به انگلیسی خواهد بود ولی شامل قطعاتی به فارسی نیز می باشد). سپس با نقالی آقای کربلایی (مهمان ما از لندن) و هنرنمایی گروه دوستان شاهنامه (با داستان ملاقات زال و رودابه) میزبان شما خواهیم بود.
