A childish story!

In our garden

Once upon a time, a man who always loved to plant trees and look after them came to some money. With it he bought a small land in a corner of a vegetable patch and planted a few trees. He looked after the trees, watered them, fed their soil and prone them for many years.

Finally, the day that he could sit under the trees’ shade came. Looking at the birds that were hiding among the branches, he thought to himself: this is perfect, but if I had a little pond, too, it would be paradise.

The next day he made a small pond. Now he had his little land with trees and a little pond with a few fish in it. He was happy. A few days passed by. Trees started to shed their leaves, and every time that the man visited his little “paradise”, he had to spend a lot of time fishing the leaves out of the pond. Until one day he thought, if the trees were not here, I didn’t have to clean the water as much.

The next day he cut the trees down!

We search for something (or someone) for a long time. Once we found it (them), we begin putting our marks on it (them), in the name of perfection...and that is one sure way of losing it.

I think you're referring to the final paragraph not being necessary. Thanks for your suggestion
