Yalda, the longest night of the year (winter solstice), has traditionally been a night of celebration for Iranians where they wait for the victory of light on the darkness on this night. On this night people celebrate by getting together. Storytelling is an important part of this festival. Traditionally grandparents had the role of the storyteller and stories from Shahnameh were told on this night. To keep the tradition going Friends of Shahnameh would provide the stories on Saturday 22nd Dec. This program will be in Persian.
