فیلمی که تمام ایرانیان باید ببینند

Early Middle Ages in Central Asia were the times of upsurge and heyday of the incredibly powerful intellectual civilization, which gave an impetus to the transformation of the world.

“Eastern Renaissance” was the name of that unique phenomenon. It was the time of great geniuses. They were the encyclopedist Abu Nasr Al-Farabi – “Aristotle of the East”; the mathematician Muhammad al-Khwarizmi – the founder of algebra; the astronomer and geographer Ahmad Farghani that was one of the first people who proved that the Earth had the form of a ball; respected scientists-theologians Imam Al-Bukhari, Imam Tirmidhi and a number of other famous names…

“They say that the West is a body and the East is a spirit. But there was the human who united the whole world. The most universal head of the epoch was Abu Ali Ibn Sina…”

Commemoration Day of Ferdowsi 2020

Ten years ago when Friends of Shahnameh decided to celebrate Ferdowsi and his Shahnameh, we never expected we would still be going and planing the annual celebration of Ferdowsi which is celebrated in Iran on 15th May.

During the past ten years we were supported by groups and individuals which irrespective of their level of knowledge about Ferdowsi shared a passion for culture and Persian literature. It hasn't always been a smooth road and from time to time we were faced with problems that we had to overcome. This year the Coronavirus pandemic has forced us to change our plans for celebrating the tenth year anniversary. Friends of Shahnameh will start the annual celebration from Thursday 7th May through social media.

This is a general call to those who are interested in sharing their views on Shahnameh or Ferdowsi. If you are interested in reading some of the stanzas of Shahnameh or other relevant topics please share a video which we will upload on Thursday 7th May.

Please send your video to sangrezeh@yahoo.co.uk or @sangrezeh on Instagram. Your videos will be shared on Friends of Shahnameh social channels (Facebook, Telegram and whatsapp).Others can add their comments and their views on each post.

Disclaimer: the views shared in the videos sent for celebration of  Ferdowsi is the speakers' personal view and Friends of Shahnameh do not accept any responsibility for the views of others.
