A Fantastic day

At the beginning of the concert, there were a few hiccups with respect to the fine-tuning of the sound (a crime committed by the sound engineer, perhaps?). But overall it was one of the best Persian concerts that I have ever attended. After the group left the stage, the audiences’ deafening applause made them come back and do one last song.

My favourite was "Daf and Tomback duet". I was hooked on the speed of Sahab Torbati's fingers beating a fast rhythm on the Tombak and was thinking about the slight pain in my own fingers after a long session of typing that day. I wish, one day, I could photograph him as he plays Tombak; unfortunately all I could manage on that day was this not so sharp photo from a distance!

Can't wait for their return.

کنسرت گروه همای و مستان، منچستر انگلستان، تابستان 2010

در آغاز کنسرت، کیفیت صدا آنچنان که می باید بی نقص نبود، با این حال این کنسرت یکی از بهترین کنسرتهایی بود که تاکنون تجربه کرده ام. پس از پایان برنامه و ترک صحنه توسط هنرمندان، صدای کر کننده کف زدنها، سوتها و فریاد "دوباره، دوباره" تماشاچیان، همای و مستان را وادار به بازگشت مجدد به روی صحنه و اجرای آهنگی دگر کرد

قسمت مورد علاقه من اجرای دونفره تمبک و دف بود. همینطور که محو تماشای حرکات انگشتان سحاب تربتی که به سرعت به تمبک ضربه میزد شده بودم، به درد خفیف انگشتان خودم پس از یک روز طولانی تماس با صفحه کلید فکر میکردم. امیدوارم که روزی بتوانم از ایشان در حال نواختن تمبک عکسی بگیرم

بی صبرانه منتظر بازگشت گروه هستم و امیدوارم که اینبار بتوانم عکسی بهتر از گروه بگیرم
